NOTE: REVIEW OF THE COFFEE SHOP ONLY! While up in the Poconos for Memorial Day weekend, our neighbor who lives here year round, highly suggested we try out the new Mountaintop Lodge coffee shop. The place is absolutely beautiful, very clean and new interior, with tables both inside and outside on the wrap-around porch and patio for you to enjoy your coffee and pastries. The indoor tables have a fireplace nearby, and I imagine it will be quite cozy during the winter lit! The baristas were very nice and happy to suggest their favorite pastries made by the pastry chef. I went with an iced mocha and a chai iced biscotti. Other family members tried the chocolate eclair, fruit tart, and a raspberry cheese danish. Since it was nice outside we sat on the patio and sipped and nibbled on our delicious treats. I highly recommend trying this place out. It has the feel of a cozy NYC coffee shop, but nestled in the mountains!

Love, love, love this place! My husband and I were looking for a getaway that was both relaxing and unique for us and fun (and toddler-proof) for our 1 year old. Mountaintop was really the best of both worlds! We were a little caught off guard when we first pulled in because it's located right off a pretty busy street. But as soon as we walked in, we were transported into the full-on lodge experience. Everything from the room (King Suite) to the breakfast was fantastic. I wish I could have tried every pastry from the coffee shop! The staff was also very friendly and helpful. Also, the included access to the Lake Naomi Club was icing on the cake - we enjoyed the pool and oh yes, the Toddler Room! We truly left feeling like it was a great find for a great value. I could see us visiting again when our little one gets a bit older.

Wonderful for morning coffee and pastries. Everything is freshly made, and tastes delicious. Our family has a house in Lake Naomi, and this is just another plus for the community. I recommend grabbing your latte &danish and sitting on the large, welcoming wraparound porch and enjoy the Poconos!

An excellent coffee and pastry shop with a nice big wrap-around porch for sitting outside or a cozy room with fireplace inside...the mocha is great and every chocolate lover will be in heaven here. I recommended the flourless chocolate cake :)

I just love it here. Carolyn is the best inn keeper ever. Amazing cookies in the room. Breakfast was gourmet. Over the top service to make guests feel welcome and taken care of. Stay here.

Nice place to relax and enjoy the specialty coffees, Italian sodas, scrumptious deserts, and hearty home made soups. Cozy, folksy atmosphere. Attentive service.

Great coffee and fantastic pastries. I had hands down one of the best brownies ever! Needs a better sign informing of the coffee shop being open to the public. Quite a gem!

My boyfriend and I made the drive up to the Mountain Top Lodge around 7 in the evening because of our work schedules and the staff was very accommodating to a late check-in. I'll admit though, when we first drove down the long and dark winding road that leads to the lodge, we were a bit nervous. Even more nervous when we were the only other car in the parking lot, surrounded only by trees. BUT when we walked inside our surroundings transformed to a cozy sitting area with checkers and charming rocking chairs. The woman who checked us in was very sweet and helpful, even giving us a map of the area! We were in the King suite which was very private with one of the biggest beds I've ever slept in and a nice shower and tub. The biggest thing we will miss besides the warm hospitality is the breakfast! We sat down with warm blueberry muffins and orange juice waiting for us! I ordered Banana Cream French Toast with sausage and my boyfriend ordered pancakes with sausage and home fries. His home fries were so delicious that I snuck a few and ordered them the next day. What surprised me the most was the coffee. Ihop has trained me to expect mediocre coffee, but this was no ihop! The coffee was delicious, even beyond Starbucks level! We loved our stay and the smell of delicious things being baked every morning. We will be back!

One of the best B&Bs I've been to. Carolyn the innkeeper was so helpful and accommodating. We arrived past 9pm when the staff is off and she left us the cutest welcome card. The rooms were super clean and cozy. We stayed in suite #5. Two br one full size bed two twin beds living room with pull out sofa and fireplace. Two flat screens with DVD. There were 4 of us and we were more that comfortable. The breakfast which was included was surprisingly awesome. No continental breakfast here. Everything was fresh. The cafe they have is great. All the desserts look delicious. The red velvet cake and chocolate decadence are worth the calories. The movie library on the second floor is a nice thoughtful touch. I would highly recommend you to stay here and relax. Only 10mins from big boulder 15 from camelback. I know I'll be back.

As a homeowner at LN, I normally walk about a half mile to the coffee shop in the mornings when we are up there. The staff is very friendly and one of them has been working on her latte art--quite impressive! They have a lot of options and my fiance enjoys the bagels (only available in the summertime) and the scones are my dad's favorite. Nice to sit outside on the deck as well.

My cousins and I ran in on a rainy day for sweets "to-go" and mistakenly entered through the back door /kitchen! The staff was EXTREMELY kind and escorted us through the kitchen into the actual cafe and seating area. We got a piece of German chocolate cake, pecan pie, iced brownie and a cannoli. The pecan pie took the crown! Absolutely delicious. The German chocolate was a close second. Would definitely go back...maybe next time to sit in the cafe! The seating area was warm and welcoming.

Loved our stay at the lodge and want to make a correction to others' reviews that this is very much a lodge/inn more than it is a b&b. With that said, the breakfast was actually much better than the one at the actual b&b we had stayed at the night before! I was expecting plain old Continental, especially when we walked in and saw the cereal and muffin stand, and then found out that a full breakfast entree was included for both of us! I had the crepes with pumpkin mousse (NOM) and sausage, my husband had the cranberry foccacia french toast with caramelized apples and bacon. I was amazed to get such a fabulous breakfast. We stayed in the cabin complex which was wonderfully rustic inside (not as exciting outside, as someone else said, the "cabins" are really nicer rooms in a separate building) with wooden furniture everywhere, mountain lodge-patterned blanket, vintage skis and toboggans on the walls, a wood-paneled jacuzzi, and gas fireplace. We had issues with the fireplace and TV but the staff were very helpful and kind about it, as they were with everything. We also visited the pool/rec complex, which I wish was walkable (and generally I wish there were hiking/biking trails around the resort). Not as much going on in the fall and winter, though they had a few activities open to members and lodge visitors. I would have loved it if like a lodge or b&b this place was more secluded - it's right on a main road and doesn't quite feel like you're in the mountains, though the grounds are nice. We did see a deer behind our unit and walked around Lake Naomi, but it felt like we were in a really nice suburban community more than a wooded oasis, which is what would make me give it 5 stars. I know the hotel can't help this though and the staff does a great job with what they have. We still loved our stay!

This was my first time staying at a bed and breakfast and I enjoyed every moment of it. The staff was great and very helpful. The room was perfect for me and my wife, we stayed in the queen suite with jacuzzi. The location was good too, it was in walking distance of lake Naomi. I would strongly recommend mountaintop lodge and I will definitely be back with my family. Also access to the community center was a added pleasure because it was about 2 miles away and plenty of activities were there too.

Excellently managed and charming, will definitely return. Wonderful setting, fabulous breakfast and coffee shop, varied, and well maintained amenities, and our room had a Jacuzzi! The tv didn't work since they had just had a storm knock it out, but looking back now I didn't need television. That and the lack of water pressure were the only things holding it back. I had a great time otherwise! Thanks for a great time.

So yesterday the Mountaintop Lodge hosted my mother in law's 70 birthday. There were 6 of us there for mid afternoon tea. An amazing couple of hours. The staff were great, food was exceptional and the service was perfect. The staff in this place understand what good quality really means. I cannot rate this place highly enough. Whether it is morning coffee, pastries, kid's cooking classes or one off events Carolyn and her team are professional and personal. Thank you.

My friend and I stayed here in April in one of the jacuzzi suites. What a wonderful experience! From the comfortable king size bed, to the 2 person jacuzzi tub it was great. The staff was amazing, even providing a small refrigerator in the room for our use. We didn't get to use the fireplace as the weather was warm, but it looked pretty! The sheets, towels and amenities in the bathroom were all top shelf. We had a quick breakfast the next morning of muffins, fresh fruit and a to die for warm cinnamon bun. The coffee/pastry shop in the front of the lodge was doing a brisk business too! All in all a very nice respite from our busy lives. We' definitely plan on returning soon!

Great staff, amazing food, beautiful room, and fun activities! The sweets at the cafe located in the B&B were delicious. Carolyn was extremely helpful and friendly. Everyone was just so nice and bubbly. Even though it was rainy when we were there, the pool remained opened (except if there was lightning). We had a lot of fun kayaking as well and the prices were very reasoning ($30/2 hours). The only minor complaint was slow wifi, which wouldn't really be a problem, but since it was rainy, we were in our room more often than we wanted to be. I would love to go back!

This place is a wonderful B&B to spend a nice long weekend. We have now stayed there twice and love it. The innkeeper,Carolyn, was very helpful with any questions we had about the area. She was very accommodating to all of our needs! We have only stayed in the "traditional" rooms but they are plenty for us. The beds in both rooms were very comfortable. The entire place is well maintained. On our first visit, there were huge chocolate chip cookies in our room. (No cookies on our second visit though...not sure why!) That's when I learned that there was a pastry shop on the premises. More on that later. Our room was very clean upon arrival and was nicely cleaned each day. The inn is very comfortable with an area with couches and easy chairs, an eating area, a back porch (which is delightful) and a front porch (also delightful but can be a bit noisy due to road noise), an area with a computer available 24hrs a day, and a pastry shop. The pastry/coffee shop alone is worth the visit. We have now had chocolate chip cookies, reese's peanut butter cup cookies, carrot cake, peanut butter pie, and pecan pie from there. And my wife and I both agree that they are the best we have ever had! I have also had Italian cream soda there. It is incredible! I had the black cherry and couldn't believe how good it was. Ok, since this is a B&B, breakfast must be mentioned and not just casually. Their breakfasts are incredible! Unlike most B&Bs, you actually get a small menu of about 5 entrees from which to choose each morning. From eggs benedict to very fancy French toast, there is something for everyone. The "cook" apparently is the chef from the club down the road. Which brings me to the fact that, as a guest here, you get full access to the Lake Naomi club. What a beautiful place! There are pools, a clubhouse, tennis courts, etc. And it is all top notch! I kind of don't want to give the Mountaintop Lodge too good of a review. My fear is that everyone will realize how great it is and it will be hard for us to get in there in the future! Now that I have written such a glowing review, you might be wondering why I only gave it four stars. While the rooms are wonderfully maintained, they can be a little noisy at times. Again, we have only stayed in the traditional rooms in the main inn, but in the room in the back of the house there was some noise coming from the downstairs dining area. The other room we stayed in was in the front of the house. We could hear some road noise in that room, but it was not bad. As a matter of fact, the noise did not bother us at all, but it does prevent me from giving five stars. We like the place so much that we already have reservations for another visit in October! There are so many reasons to visit this establishment!
